Valentine's Day Edition <3
- The fact that many preschool and Kindergarten children will wish us a happy Valentime's Day today. Speech is hard!
- This valentine that my dad made for me (and each of my sisters) one year when he was teaching Kindergarten. I didn't get around to making an activity out of it this year, but as he likes to say "that's why there's next time!" It is super cute and fun for speech-language.
- This Kid Snippets video, in which adults lip-sync to audio of two kids pretending to exchange valentines.
- This Bob Marley song lyric: "Could you be loved, and be love?". There seems to be some discrepancy over the actual wording, but that is what I have always heard the song to say. It is only a few words, however they speak volumes to me. "Could you be loved?" Let people love you , not because you want them to, but because they want to. This is harder than it should be if you really think about it. It makes us feel uncomfortable when people love us more than we do them. Or how many times have you negated a compliment? Stop that - be loved! "...and be love" - don't just love people, be love. It is a thing, and you can be it.
